The new program, which began in January, will provide a month-long, free program for all patients who require Viagra to get their prescriptions filled. The program will include discounts on the first drug, which costs $30 for a three-month supply of Viagra, plus free medicine for up to five patients.
In a statement to CBS News, Pfizer said, "Patients can receive their prescriptions for Viagra at any time in their treatment plan."
The program, which will run until March 1, will be free to eligible patients with health insurance. Patients must first be prescribed a drug by their doctor, which will be dispensed by the pharmacy. The program also includes information about the potential drug-drug interactions, such as adverse effects and side effects that may affect blood pressure or cholesterol levels.
